i hav jus sprayed my front badge ON MY MK5 and it chipping off really easy!! so i was jus wondering wots the best paint to use with this happenin??

sand it down then use plastic primer... then paint!

r8 then sand it down with some 400 grit wet and dry that some 800 then just paint it satin black it last for abit had it done on a few cars has lasted for ages

but be patient with sanding it it will take a while but u will get there

^^^^^ as above, its all in the preparation - it doesn't matter too much what paint you use - I used a can of black spray paint from Poundland, and a year later, it's still going strong.

I did my rear badge and reckon it'd be near impossible to get the paint off. I sanded it down with 400, then 800, then gave it two coats of plastic primer (letting it dry after each coat). After that I just gave it 2 or 3 coats of satin black. So yeah, what everyone else said!

If its the front badge it will chip after a while just because of where it is on the car.

I sanded mine to give it a key, then used acid etch primer. Followed by normal plastic primer then Satin Black paint from halfrauds. :-D

acid etch is for mental.

In stages

Key up with Red Scotch Brite or P240/P320.

Spray Plastic Primer.

To Guide coat spray another colour if need be very light mist coat.

Flat the surface until all guide coat is gone with P800/P1000.

Clean Surface.

Prepare for 3 coats of paint 'flash off 10-15 mins each coat' followed by 2 coats of clear.

woweeee that alot of effort going into a badge, i just picked up the nearest bit of paper to me (120 i think) and went over it taking the silver off then a bit of fiat white. no messin

The stages was to be done properly, I'm qualified painter water base :p

I washed it sanded and and sprayed if front and back... if it chips ill sand and do it again!!!

(or buy another badge!!!)
