I've been driving my polo now for about 6 months and i feel that the car is rolling a lot around corners even at slow speeds. I've checked the shocks and they ar ok, i have 14" alloy wheels with 185 tyres, this has helped but not a lot. I have been thinking of lowering the car a little but my friends have scared me off that idea by saying stuff like lowering ratios...which i do not understand...if they exist that is, i was thinking of putting a anti-roll bar on it but i was told i had one...when i looked i couldnt see one...either that or i was looking in the wrong place...most probably it was me....

so what should i do? do lowering ratios exist and what would it be on a mk4 polo? should i change the suspension to something harder or lower? if yes, what? and by how much? and is there a anti-roll bar in the car allready? if no what type and from where should i get one?

They're pretty cack handling cars tbh, but you can improve them so they dont look like they're gonna fall over on every bend;

Lowering it, springs will help a bit but the shocks will still be teh standard wobbley things.

ARB's do exist but the top ones might need adjusting to fit neatly, the bottom ones I think are pretty cheap. Try OMP

ARB kits do exist...i know eibach no longer make a mk4 polo kit...but a mk5 polo GTI front one will help

but a decent suspension setup is the best place to begin

I'm running KW V1 coilovers, eibach ARBs and powerflex bushes...my cars handling just fine for me

loads of bits can be bought

biggest ARB you can buy for the front is one from polo Gti, thats 22mm and Costs £50

powerflex poly bushes for the front end are £51

Rear arbs are more pricey, just use mk2 golf item

refresh of all bushes

then finish of with some coilys and i think you end up with something that will handle pretty well

What is the part number of GTI front ARB?

I think they mean by lowering to an extent that your wishbones remain flat and dont start pointing up the way.

I have Weitec coilovers, 22mm front ARB and a rear strut brace. Its pretty stiff and responsive. I'm waiting for a rear ARB and a lower front strut brace too.

Steering could give a little more feedback but it isnt designed for racing.
