Hello,

I have looked in the service book to try and find the engine code/number. The number i need begins with L041 _____ GF.

This is how it appears in my service book. But there should be a written number of approx 6 digits in that space.

Now what I need to know, is where I can find the engine number on the actual engine?

If someone can tell me where it is on a polo mk3 3F GT engine then it would much appreciated as it's quite urgent!

It should be below the thermostat housing on a 'ledge'. Chances are though its probably rusted quite badly. A wire brush and some degreaser might be handy to have to hand.

yeah it should be stamped on the side of the engine block below the thermostat housing and just above the gearbox. It's stamped really faintly though and you'll have to get the area pretty clean to see it.

Well, had a look and i cant see feck all. Its doing my head in now!!

Gonna go and get good old pappio to have a look tomorrow cos I need it asap.
