I have heard that Quinn insurance have a high excess? thats why they are cheap?

does anyone know of this? or if u are with Quinn? how much is your excess and how much are u paying? fully com? etc?

Mines £600 on a GT, TPF&T, all mods declared, 1 Years NCB.

I think my excess is £135 too.

dont care about mods unless they affect BHP

covered for all of europe (as they are Irish your already driving abroad)

Will they insure engine mods though? For a premium? Or do they just say no to engine mods?

I take it I'd get away with a cone filter and exhaust as just styling mods, heard a few people do.

They said they will let me take my Gt from 75bhp to 120bhp for around £250

And the 'garage that fits' the modification write down the increase in BHP, whihc Quinn base their increase.

There is a reason my induction only adds 2bhp and I quote 'is more cosmetic than performance, given the age of the vehicle and the small engine size'

Did i say induction kit, I mean 'coloured hosing and cone filter'

basically, the kinder the garage the better your quote. However there are only certain types of garages they accept

I nearly went with Quinn, but their Engineers report put me off, as I do alot of small mods over the year (chose Brentacre in the end, and they managed to beat Quinn's quote anyway :))

But back on subject - 20, 2 yrs NCB, Arosa not Polo I'm afraid, but my excess was £350. I could have lowered it a bit, but I was happy with it at that level.

They would cover anythingg but performance mods for me, working out any price changes as we went depending on what they were.
