How do i remove fuel flap cover on my mk4.

As title says,,,just landed myself a smooth petrol flap cover and cant see anyway of removing the old one.

anyone???? Could really do with this off tomight.

right I've hasd mine off today to smoooooth it but that ideas didnt work :roll:

all i did was open it maybe 4/5 cm then twist down (quite stiff) but it did pop out eventually (and i was a little worried at first) dont worry though lol it will go alot easier

I'm guessing these things just dont come off,,I'm on my 2nd day of trying now,,god knows.

does anyone know if I've got to remove the plastic ring that sits around the hole itself????

the guy doing my car said it was a pain to remove them so just smoothed mine without taking it off/

think u do need to remove the plastic lining though

I've just got it off,,,its not easy as the whole plastic and rubber sorround has to come out with it..Cheers guys.Appreciate the help.

it gone on ok then now bud? yeah i managed to pop mine out with the twist and pull but another time i couldnt get one off so??? but good to hear u got it down now
