DAN@ADRIAN FLUX

Hi everyone.

Just a short introduction. I’m Daniel. I’ve worked for Adrian Flux Insurance for nearly 18 years now.

If any of you guys on here have any general insurance queries or specific problems with Adrian Flux insurance please let me know. I can assure you I will be completely impartial despite being on the pay roll of Adrian Flux. If we have messed up I will acknowledge that and make efforts to get it corrected, if any of you do not understand an insurers viewpoint I will do my best to clearly explain it.

It could be problems ranging from simple paperwork issues to major claim disputes. With my years of experience I should be able to answer most queries immediately, if there are issues or a problem that I can’t answer directly I would ensure that a relevant manager investigates these and I would then be able to relay an answer back.

I hope this will be of some helps for you.

Thanks very much.

Daniel.

I have a question for you - how can i make my insurance cheaper?

I am 21 - owned a G40 for over 2 and a half years and have 2 years no claims - yet my insurance was still coming it at over £1000 with a £600 excess...

While i thought this was a good price as the renewal from flux was 1270 that i managed to get to 1025 - it is still extortionate....

I have a modded car policy and live in a CV1 postcode - will this be the main factor?

Dave

similar question as above, i rang up and got a quote for my new car, i'm 19 with 2 years NCB and have a 1996 Seat Ibiza 1.8l 16v GTi, and got quoted £1900 by adrian flux.

Any way to reduce it? i dont want to be paying more insurance than the car's worth (£1200)

Could I ask why the quote I got from Adrian flux was more than 2 times than that what I pay for my current insurance.

And yes that was over 2.3k for a 1.4 8v, 18 with a years no claims, TPF&T.

I have a question regarding engine conversions. I am putting a 1.3 in my polo soon and need to know what paperwork an insurance company would need from me?

I took out a policy in April as you bettered Sky's price slightly. Since then it's been nothing but arseache.

I forgot to send my proof of no claims in, honest mistake, we all make them. A lady from your office phoned me up and asked for it, I apologised and told her I'd post it straight away. I did.

A week later, I got a text 2 hours before I was due at work saying that my policy had been cancelled.

I rang up, got an explanation. Asked to get it sorted out and got put on hold. I got told (abridged version) that it was all my fault and I was lying about either having a NCB or about posting it in. I tried to find a solution with the member of staff, and they put me on hold. I waited for 10 minutes, gave up and phoned back.

I managed to speak to a manager, he said he'd get someone to phone me back in a few minutes. By this point, I am going to be late for work on the first job I am doing for a new client.

One of your guys phoned me back, and credit where it's due, was absolutely brilliant, he told me the policy had been refunded, but he got it all sorted out, asked for payment for the new policy. I explained that I hadn't got the money because I was waiting for the refund which hadn't yet arrived. We had a talk about it and he checked with his boss and agreed to put me on cover phone me back in a few days when the refund had come through.

This morning, I got a letter saying my policy was being cancelled because I hadn't paid for it. I rang up and basically got told it was all my fault for not paying the polcy (your guy said he'd phone me back to sort payment and he never did). The lady I spoke to told me how much was outstanding on the balance (which had magically gained £3), and I paid it on my debit card.

I then phoned my credit card company to pay the bill and asked about the refund from Adrian Flux. Nope, no refund here.

I phoned Adrian Flux back and got told it was all my fault for not paying the balance. Then I got told that the 2 months cover I'd had cost £150 (full year premium was £360). And got given every excuse under the sun as to why I couldn't have that money back and how they weren't making any profit out of me.

The member of staff I spoke to finally agreed to send £90-something back to my card. I agreed that as an interim settlement without prejudice. She said it was being done immediately, then I checked the card details, and no it hadn't been done, but it would be done immediately.

I told her about all the time this has wasted for me, how I've missed out on work because of it, and she wasn't bothered because the FSA said it was alright, and they wouldn't make any profit if they gave me any more back.

I've just checked the online banking, and guess what? This refund that I was meant to be getting sent about three weeks ago, and then again "immediately" today, still isn't in.

What a brilliant scam your firm is running.

Surely those calls were 'recorded for training purposes' so that will be one way they cant get out of it.

Well they insured me on a modified Renault 11 turbo in a shit area for just over £150, non of the other specialist insurers could even get close to that.

As with all brokers its about who their underwriters prefer to cover. I'd say they are well worth phoning for a quote cause they may be able to give you a very good one, if they don't you could always take to the keyboard and try and put anyone else off phoning them because they couldn't quote you happy.

I have found it proper hit and miss with specialist insurers,

Flux wanted £1000 more than Brentacre for less mods (cosmetic only) but then sky could insure for slightly less but wanted an admin charge for any changes and various other things I wasn't keen on,

Yet others seem to find Brentacre costing more than flux etc.

It's hit and miss, hence phoning around, different terms, underwriters and day of the week suit different people

Certainly not worth writing a company off without even trying them because they couldn't give someone else a competitive quote

they quoted me the same price as brentacre (except i think i forgot about the cp discount) but i went with brentacre for the lack of admin fees and because of how friendly/laid back they were

People try and ruin a companies reputation by 1 bad experience, what about the 1000's of other customers with no issues?

It's like saying there was 7 different crashes on the same stretch of the motorway today due to bad weather or something, but still, 10's of 1000's of other people didn't.

You always seem to hear bad and never good, rarely see a thread pop up saying "thanks a lot to.........they are really helpful" etc

Then it's just OH MY GOD WORSE CONPANY EVER DON'T EVEN CONSIDER USING THEM

Iv had more than 1 bad McDonald's, but still eat them

So why does that mean people should stay away? They are uncompetitive for you, fair enough but telling people not to call them because they couldn't help you, is backward.

SPOT ON. Also, in this industry, negative feedback is impossible to avoid.

Why? I've got competitors in what I do for a living. I don't say anything bad about them, and I'd hope they don't about me. I keep close to them, tipping them off to jobs I don't take on, and they do the same for me.

Tell you what though, I'll be straight on the phone to you guys for my renewal next year

OK prolly a bit harsh n ott. my apologies. just feel sorry for all the new and young drivers. Quite right I shouldn't be saying stay away. Insurance companies are minted tho and give a piece of paper to us for a year. Then we gotta pay again for another year. Then if anything ever happens its more often than not they try find any excuse or loophole NOT to pay out. So where is our " hey mr motorist your all great and you pay our salary" Lets not get away from the point of car insurance in the first place. Its just a whole big can of worms that should stay closed lol
