Right door has dropped slightly, any easy methods for getting the old pins out. I have the new ones to go in but not sure how to go about getting the old ones out.

Changed the upper one on my mk3... Simple enough...

Took the door off for better access (the obvious bolts, and no wires, unless you've got door speakers) and just drive the pins out with a punch.

If you're changing them because the door's dropped at the back edge (trouble closing it) bear in mind it's because there's wear in one of the components... If it's the pin itself, changing it'll fix it, but otherwise, you'll need to ream (or drill, if you REALLY must!) the hole and fit an over sized pin.

When you fit the new pin, I suggest the use of a good G clamp, or small vice to press it in, rather than hammering.

silly question, but do the pins knock out from the bottom of the door up or vice versa as have tried both ways without any luck! stuck fast they is!

Pretty sure they'll come out either way... Try pressing them a bit (clamp or vice) using the protruding bit... As soon as they start to move, life becomes easy! Think I drove the upper one upwards, but only for easier access.
