I've had similar problems with mk3 1litre. I've put it down to brake servo vacum pipe grommet being perished and the diesel spill pipes all being perished. of course a damn good service helped, try changing plugs, ht leads, dizzy cap and rotor arm and blue temp sender also as well as all filters

Hope this helps

Could it be around your throttle body area if its more noticable with a induction kit. Perhaps try giving the throttle body a good clean, my cars just shy of 50, 000 miles and its TB needs a good clean, because of bouncy revs.

My yoke does this all the time, especially when it's cold. Carb' cleaner helps a little, but I haven;t really bothered to find a more permanent resolution TBH.
