I am having a problem with the idle on my mk4, the idle was ok until my head gasket went i have replaced the head gasket and now it idles at 20 and keeps going up and down either above or below 20. Is there any way of adjusting this?

U cannot adjust the idle as its electronicly controlled by the ECU.

But people have adjusted the accelerator cable to bring it down or up. U can try that.

you need sombody with vag-com to reset the adaptive settings for the throttle body i expect...

disconnect the battery for a few hours
