there isnt a str8 through grommet. pull the carpet down in the passenger footwell and drill through the fire wall, put a rubber grommet on the cable for a watertight professional install, then feed the cable up underneath the glove box and into you stereo.

on mine ther is a grommet but u gta lift the carpet up n find it with you are fingers once u find it stick a screwdriver in it, its quite high up but its there so keep looking.

there is definitely a gromit in my one

I just put mine through the passenger side front panel and through by the door, then under the door seal. works a treat.

There's always a risk of rust when drilling through any metal.

Anyone got any pics of this? I'm getting pretty desparate now - really don't want to drill...

Even a good description of where the grommet is would be helpful...

i wouldnt be listening to that! i'd hate to see the fires you've had after wiring your battery up to your head unit!

drill a hole through the bulkhead, use a rummber grommet as said, also put some silicone around both sides of the grommet for an extra watertight seal, and feed the power cable DOWN THE SILL TO THE BOOT where your amp will await. but dont forget to wire up and earth the amp first before wiring up the power cable

Door seals. ;)

DRILL IT!!

mines running off the fuse box, no need to drill through the bulk head

mines running off the fuse box

i'd like to see that one!

as above id like to see that. iv just popd a hole wid a screw driver through one side of the rubber seal where all the normal wires go through works a treat and the rubber seal is still attached which covers the hole so its still good, as its still water tight. give it a try.

nothing wrong with running off of the fuse box, its a 12v feed and its also fused

mate its not all about voltage when it come to an amp

thers a grommet behind the header tank, ease a s/driver small through it, reach up and under and behind the glovebox, pull underfelt away comes easily, and locate s/driver. open entrance to grommet and spray in mr sheen, feed cable thru, job done. dont drill it ffs

Pics please of this fuse box feed!!!!

you shouldn't really need to drill a new hole, there is a grommit on both the engine side and in the footwell, behind the glove box, quite far up though!

i should really take it on me to make a guide thread for sticky at some stage.

that guide would be really appreciated! been trying to find a quality guide for 6n2 but with no luck!

I'm only spending around £200 on ICE so don't want to waste around £50 on fitting.

Unless anyone in north london is willing to do me a favour?

there is no guide as such specific to a 6n2 as almost every car is the same apart from where to put the live feed through from battery to interior, do a search on google and I'm sure hundreds of various guides will come up
