original rear clusters + can of red paint + to much time to kill ... :biggrin:

result , i like it and it cost nothing to create

I was thinking of doing this but other things took up my time. How hard was it to do?

They look sweet tho btw :) definatly going to be doing it one day!

not very hard to create , they are not perfect but for this summer they will do .

This winter i'll redo them , so next year they will be much better painted

what paint did you use lad, the tinting spray from halfords or that? Is it a gloss finish? Presume its done on the outside and not inside...... Looks class. In my opinion better than 6N2 rears...

Well if they look exactly like Mk5 rears then buying new ones would only mean lots of wiring problems makign this much easier

I'm guessing he used the tinting guide on here?

if it failed , so what , it has cost me nothing and i have got the smoked ones also "in case off" ...

will the indicators still shine through yellow ok mate? well I'm asking do they, lol. i assume the reverse light is strong enough and can u also tell when you are breaking?

I only tinted the indicators & reverse light , they light up well enough , but red ...

the rest of the cluster remains untouched , so the brakelights are still okay

i did the same with mine

only thing was that the indicators now flash red which looks a bit odd but oh well they still look good

they go realy well with the grey as well very nice car

They look absolutely awesome! I'd love to know how to do that! I have found some MK5 (2000 Model?) rear lights, but was wondering if they do actually fit into a MK4?

They do fit but be prepared to get your drill out

I'm slightly worried about my indicators flashing red :p lol. I'll probably do this and if i don't like the looks of it i'll go for some Mk5 rears.

P1N3R - Search around the forum theres lots of stuff regarding putting Mk5 lights into Mk4's

a lot of older us cars had red indicators at the rear , so what ...

they do look cool and the best bit is they fit better than mk5 rears!

I like!! Would of done this if i hadnt already bought some mk5's!!
