ordered some bits from vw picked them up and asked for w5dpo's as been told there best but now on inspection as i was half asleep this mornin picking parts up he's just ordered g40 spark pugs doesnt say bosch or w5dpo any where?? are they any good there vag g40 plugs but are the bosch w5dpo any better or ?

Usually the plug has its number stamped on metal on the widest part. Probably they are the right ones but VAG branded. My car currently has those, but they still state 'W5DPO' on them. If not I can only offer some advise what to look for. The mk2 g40 and mk3 g40s use different spark plugs so the first thing to check is if they are platinum or not. Mk2 ones aren't, but mk3 ones are. The W5DPOs are platinum and have a single cathode (the 'arm' bit over the top) and the anode ( the centre where the spark jumps from) is pointed. The mk2 non-platinum plug has a flat anode.

To be honest, i'm not sure how else to tell off the top of my head. Perhaps you could do a photo of them?

cheers for that yeah they are vag but bosch w5dpo's on closer inspection so fitted them any way seems a lil better
