how to remove the casing froma mk5 wing mirror?

as tite says really i need to get off the casing from a mk5 mirror i have to get it sparayed and wanted to remove it instead of having to do some intricate masking.

is there a technique or a guide in a mk5 haynes manual

The plastic casing on a mk5 mirror is just clipped on, use a thin flat head screw driver to lever the casing off the mirror body, working around the edges. Careful you don't slip

The plastic casing on a mk5 mirror is just clipped on, use a thin flat head screw driver to lever the casing off the mirror body, working around the edges. Careful you don't slip :finger:

i tried this but seemed to be having no luck, just gonna mask it up instead now and get it touched up its black anyways but has a stone chip in it so needs flatting back and blowing over again

keep tring mate, it can be done, try pulling the casing as well, i have had them off a few times in the past. :thumbsup:
