i wan to loose the badges on the tail gate and them little strips on the doors any ideas how to do this without scratching the paint?

Hot water poured over it will soften the glue, and then it can be *carefully* peeled off (be very careful or you might damage the paint) and then any remaining glue can be removed by a lot of rubbing and something like a tar remover.

use a plastic filler spreader,thats how most bodyshops get them off

someone told me to use a hairdryer to do the tailgate badges will that work?

or if the wetheres sunny near you (boiling here) put the badges and 1 side of strips in the sun (odviously you cant to both sides lol) and that will warm the glue them pull them off VERY CAREYULLY...

i got the badges off :) did it with hot water and used a credit card to take them off, tried a hairdryer didnt really work only left some glue behine which i peeled off so wasnt too bad

is this the same with a mk2 saloon do you no? i jut wanna take the side trims of, how do i go about doing this? just hot water then will the black trims just bend of?

I've been told it should do as it isnt very firm as they usually come off if they get hit so hot water and then use a credit card or a plastic scrapper should do the trick but I'm not 100% sure havnt tried the strips yet

p.s a steamer would work great as i sort of figured out lol

i attempted my side strips and they left a inlet in my paint looked a right state even when t cutted and got crap off glued em back on :(

Lemon Juice is a good one, Squeeze a lemon over it or

You can buy adhesive remover spray. I got some on ebay £2 a can and it smells just like lemon. Doesnt damage your paint and its easy to get all the sticky glue off. Thats what I've used on any or my cars I've had and wanted to remove strips and badges.

heres what i always find works best - use a credit card to get it off (wont scratch), then bit of white spirt to get the glue off dont rub too hard tho or you'll take the laqour off. Then use a bit off tcut to get the black shadow out and you wont notice it.

i recently took all the badges off and the mud flaps !!! looks loads better but my doors have holes in so i have to wait to get them welded to take of the side strips :(

btw i used a credit card n a bit of warm water, works nicely :)

Heat the glue up one way or another and pull the trims off.

As for removing the glue, don't waste your time with anything other than a 'caramel wheel'. Sometimes referred to as fudge wheels or biscuit wheels.

All you do is put it on a drill and it will remove all the glue without damaging the paint. Takes no time at all. Last night took me about 5 mins to pull all the side strips off (kettle water and leaning on them) then went over them with the caramel wheel. Took 15mins in total.
