how would i go about getting the red'ness back into my newly bought polo saloon? its not bad, but its not good either. just wanted to no what stuff i can get and bring the shine and colour back. any tips will be good

not sure mate,,,if its flash red then they always go dull for some reason.

think its tornado red if i remember rightly its mainly the roof thats faided the worst.

give it a good claying and get some paint renovator/ restorer from the meguires range. this stuff takes aget to do anything but it does work..

or these a special thing i remember seeing in a mag some years ago that comes in 2 gallon drum that you spray on then leave 24 hours and wash off... but it doesent damage anything other than paint

what is this clay stuff? and what are your opinions on t-cut?

where abouts can i get that sorta stuff from?

use t cut, autoglym Super resin polish, any type of polish will do it, all you will need is patience

halfrauds will do it..

iirc they are doing 3for2 on all meguiars products at the mo...

get some red t-cut (think they do it in red) not the original, really brings out the colour and any ligjht scratches turn red! My cars black and was faded like hell when i got it, half a day of t-cutting and iot looks new! Mates thaught id resprayed it! Make sure you use a proper clotch though (its about £2 in any motor shop, looks like bandages) coz trust me i found out the hardway, dads pants just do the job lol.

rub t-cut or similar in by hand on the whole car, buff off using one of those £20 polishing buffer (dont use a grinder with polishing mops unless you are a pro!), then go over the car with a good quality carnubba based wax (again apply by hand, then buff off with the polisher but remember to use a clean cloth rather than the one you used to buff the t-cut off with!) for the tricky bits you could try using a rotory tool with polishing felt tool to buff! remember if you t-cut you will need to re-seal the paint else if wil just fade again

What do you mean by re-seal the paint? Waxing i presume?

I found that out after t-cut lol :p

i found autoglym super resin is the best as t-cut tends to take a layer of paint off. you need to give it about 3-4 coats with autogylm depending on how bad it is. You need to rub it in quite hard and leave it for about 5-10mins before rubbing it off. The first coat won't look as tho its done anything the 2nd coat will look good but then the 3rd/4th just makes it sparkle red

i t-cut'd it last week, put the pics on the picture section, forgot to take some before i done it. but I'm going to give it a wash and polish on monday i think. and also the interior aswell. but thanks all

The best stuff to use is a rubbing compound called G3 , For the best results use a machine buffer, keeping it wet so you don't burn your paint work. Finish it off using wax, brings dull reds back to life every time. Garages normally charge £50- £100 for this service. I should know i work in a body shop and polishing is one of my duties.

Like said above, all you need is some decent polish. The Meguirs range has a decent renovator, or you could use the Autoglym Super resin polish. lots of time and elbow grease required.

It really depends on how much your budget and time extends, but for a fantastic finish go

Good wash using a decent car shampoo

Meguirs Clay bar with Quik detail spray

Quick wash

Scratcx X or similiar(can skip this if you want)

Autoglym or similiar polish

Very good wax-recommend meguirs

Do not carry this out in sunlight or a hot day. cool weatheris better.

Once you have done all of this, always only use decent car shampoos to wash the car. Also never take to a carwash.
