Went to the scrappies to see a new engie. The engine had code AER and it was'nt a carb intake.

Are the 1.0l multi injection. The engine looks the same as mines but without the carb.

I think there was a mpi 1.0 yes. The AER is a late 6n 1.0 I think. The early ones were the same as the Mk3. This is what I can gather, anyway. Your Mk4 Polo shouldn't be a carb engine anyway, so I'm not quite sure what you're getting at?

Yeah my polo has the Large style dustpan lid on top.

I seen a engine that looked like mines, but instead of the lid it was fuel injection, but I never knew they did multi-fuel injection on engines earlier than 1995. except from the G40/GT if i'm not mistaken

Oh right. Your Mk4 is fuel injection, just single point as opposed to the mpi systems found in other cars. The mpi 1.0 is from 1996 on, so late 6n. I do believe all 1.4 6ns are multi point injection, not sure about the 1.6. Along with the G40/GT and NZ these are the early Polos that are multi point. I think ALL polos after 1996 are multi point injection.
