I've recently purchased a new sporty gearknob for my car but i can get the old 1 off any 1 got any ideas its a mk4 polo

It should just twist, probably thread locked or just very tight.

I've tried twisting its to tight but ther seems to be a clip divent want to knock it off though until i know what it does

here a rough guide mte that is fitting another knob but you should just be a able to fit your new knob this way also

I've changed the wanted just for you now mate... lol the worst thing is I've gt a diesel injection fast road chip and uprated injectors....... so I can get through some diesel lol
