oil light flashing and beeping at me

Featured Replies

ok, just been driving my 6n16v down the M4 and was accelerating of a slip road when my oil light came on and the car beeped at me, this hapened for a seconed or so then went off. Then, about 10 mins later it did it again so I pulled off to check the oil. I gave it a couple of mins for the oil to settle and checked it. It seemed like it was up to the limit of how much oil is in the engine however I'm not sure that if i had left it a bit longer there would have been slightly more oil than there should be in there.

Could it be possible that the light is beeping at me because there is too much oil in there or is it because the sensor is going wrong or the oil is getting stuck somewhere? has anyone else had this problem?

please help because i dont want to be driving my car around if it could be something serious?

it could be oil pressure mate

check the wire aint faulty, or the sensor, it'll be on the back of the head

Too much oil is probably worse than not enough.

Get to a garage and get the oil pressure checked and you'll know for sure what the problem is.

ok, will do. how much money is it gona cost to get the oil pressure checked by a garage? I will check the oil tomorrow and if there is too much drain a bit out. Only recently got the car and it has been serviced recently. wouldnt suprise me if they have put too much oil in, its not the first time i have encounted garages making a complete hash of things. cheers for the help!

Shouldn't cost much tbh, not like it's gonna take em long!
