I'm just new here, and I wonder could anyone help me find the problem of my dads polo.

Well, he ran out of gasoline and fill it up. They have to jump start the car in order to run the engine. But the next day I started the car it won't start, it just kepp on cranking. It seems that there is no Gas getting into the carb. Can anybody give me an idea what to do or check. Just to save time and money. Thanks in advance God Bless

I had this problem with my moped, where i had ran it out of fuel and it just wouldn't start again, turned out that the carb was full up with water that had been sitting in the tank.

so make sure there is actually fresh fuel within the carb itself and try again

yup, just get a little tiny bit of petrol, take the air filter lid off and pour it straight into the carb. It should fire up next time you try it.

thanks i have try it. Well the engine runs but as soon as the fresh fuel burn it also died down. I think I found the problem, I have another one. Firts the prob is the Fuel pump. My problem don't know how to remove it. Any picture or tips to remove it is greatly apprieciated.

What makes you think its the fuel pump? Is it an electronic pump or mechanical? First thing to do is check the pump,but without knowing the age of car,i cant really explain how - it could be on the engine or in the fuel tank. What about the fuel filter? Its more likely to be that than the pump.

What about the fuel filter? Its more likely to be that than the pump. Take the pipes off both sides of the pump,dip the one from the filter which will be facing up out the pump in a cup of petrol,and the one facing left in an empty container (or upper pipe from filter in cup of fuel and lower one in container if its a pre-'85 car,as the fuel pump is in a different place on the early cars). Get someone to turn the ignition over for a good few seconds. If the pump sucks fuel out the cup and squirts it into the container,its fine. If not,its dead. So then if its good,the fuel pipe might be blocked. Or if no filter,rubbish (sand,bits of plastic and metal,the tank gets allsorts in it) sat on the bottom of the tank may have got in the carb and blocked a fuel jet.
