Spraying

Featured Replies

I'm on about spraying the plastic part of my mirrors (i.e. the casing) as they've become a little pitted and could use touching up before Inters...

Have got spray can of LC9Z and laquer from VW themselves, but am unsure if I need to primer the casing first, my initial thought is no as am just putting a new top coat on as it were but wanted to check first to be on the safe side

Rub them down with somewhere near 800 grit paper to get the shine totally off them, paint the colour of your car and lacquer them. If its a metallic colour, rub down the coat of lacquer with some 1500 grit paper and give it another coat. Repeat till its nice n smooth!

you only need primer if you go all the way through the paint to the plastic underneath
