As title, what sort of noises should i look out for which indicate gearbox bearings/gears on their way out or driveshafts. Please can u help as i need to put my mind to rest.

Yep, I'd know mine just BLEW! Its sorta starts off with a whining noise and whenver you press the clutch it seems to die down or go quiet..but before I knew it and got home safely mine was doomed!!!

Trust me get it checked out before it ends up like mine...sitting on the drive useless and staring at you day in day out!

Mine does the opposite, When I dip the clutch the noise gets louder?! wtf

well mine is a very very feint scraping/hissing noise which u really need to concentrate to hear, it only happens when you accelerate and doesnt do it whilst idling or coasting, the clutch has no effect on it - possibly driveshaft/differential as it goes into gear perfectly and i dont hear any whines or groans?

I'm slightly worried bout mine its sometimes hard to get into 5th and sometimes 2nd.

sounds like clutch release bearing, my old box did that before I replaced it now its fine.
