1043cc polo , Little bit more poke ?

Featured Replies

I am rebuilding a 1043cc 1991 boulevard coupe , am rebuilding engine at some stage and if anyone knows how to get a little more power for a small price , ideally i'm looking at bolt on options freely available at a scrap yard . if so what do i need and will it go straight on or will i need other parts etc.. possible 1.3 polo or golf 1.4 throttle bodies ? and will they fit directly ?

Without meaning to sound like a stuck record, you need bike carbs. Easy to fit, cheap, far more power, sound amazing and will likely even increase fuel economy. Just use a standard set from a sports bike such as standard Kei-Hins from a circa y2k Honda CBF400. Or the bigger ones, standard again, from a late 90s-y2k CBR600F if you want full flavour.. I'm not sure how you disengage the fuel system and keep the ignition, but I've been led to believe its simple to do. Its perfectly legal to remove the cat.

lol, you're way past that!

Id say 1.3 polo head and 1.3 throttlebody if you're not planning on increasing the cc.

the 1.4 golf one's fit, its jus a case of takin one off and puttin the other on. u can also use the the elbow and have a better induction kit on it

I put a topic up about this a while ago itshere and its got some interesting posts
