Different Capacity's

Are the Bore's or strokes different on a 1043/1272/1391 or is it a cobonation of both. Just if it was stroke presumably that would mean GT pistons would fit in a 1.4??

Between 1043 and 1272 it's stroke. The 3F pistons won't fit in an ABD 1.4.

Sweet thanks for clearing that up!

So could GT pistons be fitted to 1043cc Rods to make a high compression ratio 1043cc?

All mk 3 rods are the same length so fitting GT pistons would not make it higher comp, infact it would probably be lower.

i take it you trying to raise the compression on a 1.4 ABD

Yeha on here was after a set of pistons out of a 1.6.......his idea was to machine them so they fit the ABD and raise the compression ratio

this was a while ago & i'm not sure if he's done it or not

Hmm that sounds like an interesting idea.

yeah 1.05 pistons will be taller than gt ones as well to make them reach tdc. GT ones would fall short by around 5mm.

Yes apparently the 1.4 abd and 1.6 pin size is the same so 1.6 pistons will physically fit a 1.4 after a rebore, but whether they are the correct height is anybodys guess.

The 1.05/1.3 and 1.4 ABD are the same bore, the 1.6s are bigger bore and longer stroke
