Just lately my polo gt has been drinking fuel and puffing out black smoke, i cant find what the problem is. I have changed the temp sensor, ecu and tb but its still doing it. Can anyone help?

Lambda sensor? If it goes the ECU goes into fail safe mode and over fuels in an attempt to protect the engine. Not sure if it does it enough to make black smoke...

I'd say you're burning oil from an internal leak somewhere which is fucking up the lambda sensor, causing false readings, meaning more fuel is injected than necessary.

Is the problem present when the engine is warm and cold?

Yes it is. I have changed the injectors and it has seemed to sort itself. Cheers for the help guys.
