fitted my cobra monaco seats and subframes into the mk1 yesterday. went in without any major problems, but the driving position is now unbearable. the backs of the seats are only a couple of degrees off being vertical, and my head is almost touching the roof. the original seats were very low and slouchy, exactly how i like it. my welding skills arent exactly amazing but i guess I'm going to have to modify the subframes to get the seats to sit properly. the sticker on the subframes says they are for mk1/2/3 polos, is this correct or should they all be different fitments?

anyone else had similar problems?

My Cobra classics were like that in my Mini. They were nasty,i got a numb ass and backache swiftly. Rally drivers sit almost vertical,with very bent arms - you cant expect to feel comfortable walking in high-heels. Which is a bit of an odd perspective from someone who doesnt wear them,but you get the idea.. Can you not put spacer blocks on the front of the seat,where it bolts to the sub-frame,hence tipping the seat back?

On the bottom side legs of the subframe where there are a 3 or so holes, cut them both sides and drill some new holes so it will sit lower down.

Bit of trial and error but thats how I got mine perfect in the end.

to be fair monacos are pretty poor seats to start with!
