Air Con causing a drop in performance and rough idle

Hey everyone as the title says really, my air con just causes the car to not rev as nicely and idle badly. Cleaned the tb no real imporvements.

Any ideas?.

Prob just normal, Does the rev's drop a bit when you turn it on, I'm pretty sure thats what they all do, It runs of the engine thus taking some of the engine power.

Its normal don't worry about it. It takes up 5-8% of you are engine power to run the refrigerant pump

The ECU should compensate by adjusting the idle speed/fuel to make it idle as it should

It will slow the car and reduce fuel economy though :crybaby:

Was suprised at how much difference it actually makes. In a monaro at work was doing 140 mph round the bowl with aircon on, switched it off and it immediatly carried on up to 150 mph!

My dad's Supra is definately far more sprightly with the air con belt removed...

very very true, As soon as you switch the button you feel the whole car kinda lose its puff, and need more throttle to get up to a speed.

Well long as its supposed to be like that.
