Well PSD don't have any Eaton kits at the moment and not sure if they will have again...apprently they have a turbo kit in the making...so I'd go turbo. Unless you could get a PSD Eaton kit 2nd hand.

what about the awt kits

Apprently there are some issues with the strength of the brakets and alignment of the pulleys...I don't have one so can't comment first hand.

i just ordered one from awt i want to stick with supercharger maybe a turbo project on another polo if i ever finish this one i plan on making my own bracket if there are any issues with it

ask youngprodigys about the AWT kit, i was gna buy it off him, but didnt due to other circumstances, he sold it, but he'll know a lot bout it

The AWT kit isn't that good, the brackets fracture and the fittment is pretty crappy with the need to grind loads of metal away.

I've seen better Eaton conversions done by Polo owners themselves.

The PSD kit is much better, the charger end's are redesigned for the Polo, the fitment is strong and solid, again there are still fitting complications.

Turbo is the way I'm going, origianlly I was going to wait for an Eaton or Lysholm conversion but was tempted by Turbo. A G40 with the right turbo should wave bye bye to supercharged competitors.

i have a turbo conversion on the cards, but am thinking of changing plan back to supercharged..

Any room under the bonnet for twincharging? :D

HA!!

I don't think so.

The G40/Eaton/Lysholm are all huge units , there won't be any room to fit a small Turbo along side one of those things let alone one large enough to worth bothering with.

Eaton all the way baby :thumbsup:

I hadn't thought of Lysholm, are there anyone running them? What charger is it?

lysholm is the name under which they are produced, [designed by alf lysholm] mainly used on boats its like a roots type blower like the eaton but with different impellers [correct term?] the eatons have 4 'teeth' where as the lysholm has 3 on one and 5 on the other with different profiles.

they run much tighter tolerances [around 0.01 inch or maybe another 0] and sound like cats.

more popular on G60s, raddos and golfs but there are a couple about on polos. - but do come as standard on konigsegg ccrs and ford gt40s! to name a few

Asher - my Turbo, manifold, downpipe and feed/returns are all up for sale now, just haven't got to taking pics yet..

i thought briefly about twin charging but wen off that, its hard enough getting one to work! so now i have gone full circle back so supercharged for my project..
