small problem with the brake light on the passenger side of the mk3 sqaure it just keeps blowing bulbs! they are definately blown cos i will put the bulb in a different place and it doesnt work, i am on my 4th bulb now since buying the car and it is the only light i am having trouble with everything else works perfectly, the bulb will usually last about a month or two then it will go, everything looks ok no major damage that i can see...

anyone got any idea what could be causing it?? cos i am getting a wee bit annoyed now with having to keep buying new bulbs

Are you using the right wattage bulbs? I blew a brake light bulb in mine just after changing it because it was the wrong power.

check it has a good earth, other than that i dont know why it would blow, is it getting damp or anything?

The socket could be fucked and shorting maybe?

i had another look today the bulbs are deffo the right wattage, I'm pretty damn sure its not getting wet but the bulb did seem a bit loose in the socket compared to the others so it may be that...
