Well i had to get a new battery 2day to get me home from stockport as my alternator died with the rain we have had and i need about an hours worth of power.

I got home all safe and sound and have just got in from fitting a newer alternator from a mk3 GT which looks the same well a bit.

I just need to know if its ok to run it on a mk2?

It may be a silly question be its better safe than sorry!

yep should be fine, bit more powerful id guess but no disadvantages

I thought it was the other way round, I thought the non-G40 Mk3 alternators were less powerful than the Mk2 alternators? I read something like that anyway.
