Induction Kit cold feed - mk4 Gti

Featured Replies

I've just ordered a k&n induction kit for my 1.6 Gti and intend to fit it myself. Thing is the website instructions on how to fit it tell u to cut a hole in the engine tray for the cold feed.

I was just wondering if anyone new another way to get the cold air feed to the engine without cutting the hole in the tray. I've had a look around the engine bay and noticed an air intake in the bottom right hand corner at the front which leads to the little grill next to the fog light, the other end doesnt lead anywere but just seems to point along the engine tray. Is this a vital part or could i just take it out and pipe up to the grill for my cold feed?

Any thoughts?

Cheers!

Where ever theirs a suitable gap of cold air with room for the air to flow in when moving, Just not from under the car.
