gt electrics

Featured Replies

my gt spluttered and ground to a halt this afternoon.

i called the aa.

the guy said there was a spark and the fuel pump was working and there was fuel.

he said that there was a problem somewhere with electrics, maybe the ecu.

thing is its had a conversion to make it a gt so I'm not sure on the ins and outs.

any common problems?

should i just ring an auto electrician to find the fault?

anyone recomend one kettering, northants area?

help appreciated, thanks

does it spark when the engine is turned over? ie spare spark plug in the end of a lead, against the chassis, and try firing it up...

if the spare plug sparks, ... and theres fuel.... it should fire up. (air + fuel + spark = ignition)

it may have sparked for aa man depending how he tested it. could be a duff dizzy

hi I'm an auto sparky.....i have had problems in the past where the fuel pump will prime when you turn the ignition on but it stops when cranking.try bridging pins 30 to 87 on the fuel pump relay then try starting it

the customer is not always right, he is suposed to be a mechanic and he couldnt tell it had ran out of fuel ..........god help us all

its hard to tell sometimes though, if the gauge says theres petrol... and petrol comes thru the injectors (which it does!!!)... then everythings saying "you have petrol"

... just not enough petrol to start it !!! (or at least run it)
