As title says really, has anyone tried fitting a set of mk3 bumpers to a mk2?

Please let me know if its possible, post up pics or photoshops if possible

Seen it done on a Mk2 breadvan. Looked wank.

Haven't tried it but have take bumpers off both cars and know first hand it would take a lot of work for something that wouldn't even look that good if you did manage it.

The mounting points are all different and i'm sure someone mentioned once that the front bumper needs major surgery to not leave gaps.

As i said to the person who asked this last week,of which his topic is in the search function somewhere (probably the bodywork forum),the back is a straight swap iirc but the front end of the later car is a few inches longer and the panelwork different - so it'd be a nightmare. The bumper wont sit with the front panel at all,and its not designed to overlap the full depth wings. Why would you do it,though? It looks cheap,because it makes it look like you're trying to make an earlier car appear as a late one. The classic looks are a popular reason for choosing a pre-facelift. Just a buy a later car,they tend to be about the same price.

you can get big bumpers for mk2s so why would you want to fit mk3 ones?
