As title really, if I had a set of RHD headlamps and a set of LHD headlamps sat together is it possible to tell the difference?

I'm guessing yes but I'm unsure how? Glass pattern maybe?

Do they both operate the same when fitted and its just merely a case of adjustment?

Any knowledge would be greatly received.

Its not a case of adjustment,the pattern in the glass,and bowl of some other cars,bends the beam to the nearside of the car. If the info isnt on the lamp,it may be possible to tell by comparing them if you understand how light bends through glass shapes. If prism science isnt your thing,then fitting the lamps with the car facing a wall,and marking the beams on the wall with the lights on,should highlight which are bending the light to which side.

Tis indeed the lense pattern, they are different. Been doin a bit of research on this as I'm taking my ageing straight six Vx Carlton to Spain when I move there in August. No good having the plastic beam benders over there for the Spanish MOT, it will fail, then they cahrge you 700 euros to get new headlight units when all you need is lenses.

The reflector bowl can be tilted either way so that is no problem at all. All you will have to worry about is the final alignment. If you can do RHD yourself on a white wall then you can do LHD the same.

Thanks for the responses guys, confirms what i thought that the glass patterns would be different in order to reflect the light correctly.
