Try english and STOP SHOUTING! text speak makes it too difficult to read, and people just won't bother.

WHat headunit are we talking about, Is it the original one or an aftermarket unit.

It sounds like both wires are wired into the constant live in your circuit. The DIN plug end should have an exposed plug with a wire in either orange, red or yellow. You may need to connect one of the feed wires to this(normally marked IGN.

soz bro. nah all the wires are connected ..iv double chekd them..the hedunit still dnt switch off.iv tried so mcuh 2 sort it out. has ne1 else had ne probs wid it. ist aftermarket unit alpine 1

On my 1992 polo the wires didnt line up in the plugs so i pulled them all out and spliced all the wires. After doing this i found i didnt have a switched live so i spliced the two live from the HU to the permanent live, however this kept flattening my batt. I fixed this by connecting another window heater switch to the switched live and now its sorted, all i hve to do is flick that extra switch and i have music.

Good Idea, but i can't understand why you wouldn't just wire in a switched live, from, say the HRW circuit. That way, when you take the keys out, you don't forget the unit on.

To the OP, again with the text speak. Basically, there will be an ign and a constant live. Alpines are able to cope with this. If it isn't doing what it should, there is a problem with the ignition wire on the back of the radio(this is probably connected to a constant +ve.

Um.... lol yes that would have made more sence, nevermind I've done it now ill remeber for nextime I'm swapping my HU tho cheers.

has ne1 had problems wid cahngin the HU in the NEW polos. i gt a 06 plate polo. i chnged it 2 an alpine HU a new 1 an it dusnt seem 2 switch off wen key is takin out.

I have the exact same problem. I have a 2007 Polo and I installed a pioneer 6900ib today after spending forever getting adaptors and a tray to fit the gap left when i removed my old double din radio. Like you my new head unit won't turn off when i turn off the car, I have swapped the yellow and red cables and nothing has changed. Anyone have any ideas? I'm worried about draining the battery, and also it's a bit annoying having to turn off the radio every time.
