following on from my earlier thread, can anyone tell me exactly where the indicator switch is on a mk 2 polo (1991)? In the Haynes manual it says it would be behind the left hand fascia, but i have no idea what this means... Can anyone help?

i think its behind the glove box theres 2 screws holdin it in place I'm sure its there

does that mean i have to get the glovebox out? or can i get to it from under the bonnet?

Well, if its vaguely the same as a mk3 polo... which it probably is...

You should find the relay underneath and behind the dash/glovebox (as previously mentioned)

To get to it - put the passenger seat all the way back and get your head into the footwell. Take a torch... its a bit dark under there.

If the relay is still working then obviously putting the hazards on whilst you search for it would make life easier. Chances are that it probably isn't working though, judging from your post..?

The relay should just pull out... if i recall correctly.

Remember - I'm basing this on mk3 polo knnowledge but since the mk3 was a mk2 facelift... it can't be that dissimilar!

Yep,Josh's correct but for the accessibility - i had no choice but to remove the glovebox. Still,its only three screws,and undoing the one at the back may be enough. Which i needed a torch to find.

I got away with just unscrewing the front 2 then just letting the box just hang down out the way. Careful there's not too much weight in it though or it will warp the plastic around the back screw. If the relays not working and your struggling to find it, its the smaller one of the two relays that are stuck together.
