Right i'm running a set of the PSD G60 injectors - but i was wondering what other cars run equivalent injectors as the G60 without having to mortgage parts of my body to buy them?

Indeed, was going to say that. If they're 802s or 804s then they're from Volvo 740 and 940/960 turbo's respectively. I wonder how much the difference is between them, but we went from 804s to 802s on our Volvo just because they were easier to get hold of and at least one of the old ones was knackered.

So long as they're the same resistance and flow rate (take note of flow rate at given pressures- generally 45psi ish) and bosch fitting you can use any.

Please don't grade injectors by colour, some ford motorsport 'green' injectors will drain your fuel tank in mins

American e-bay is good if you want second hand ones- but that seems somewhat of a false economy to me, your upgrading with second hand parts quite a key item in the fuel system. I'd buy new ones, not that expensive if you get them from the States

You took the words out of my mouth Yoof.. I see meany folks shoving random 'Green'..'Red'.. 'Yellow's which my mates says are like reds' injectors into their cars. A couple of folks have sucessfully caused issues with their engines by slotting in some random Volvo injectors, another chap blew his ECU with some low impedence Ford items and the most problematic injectors of the lot that i've seen are ones that have supposivly ultrasonicaly cleaned.

I'll supply anyone a set of brand new 250cc's t for free if they send me a human kidney...

So grading them by colour is wrong (I don't anyway) but what about the 3 letter coding? Are all 803s the same for example? And are the on a linear scale at all? ie, are 802s and 803s similar in their flow rates and impedance, or are they all just random?

I'm helping a mate build a "secret" project car and we need to upgrade the injectors - but we are on a seriously tight budget! The 250cc ones I have just fitted to my G40 are from PSD which i bought from The Duck at the same time as my new charger - and I think they had a ford stamp on them.

We cant afford £200 for a new set of G60 injectors - but these ford ones seem to be doing quite a good job on my G40

So what other cars have the same Bosch injectors as a G60 with the correct impedance for our application?? We are going to buy new, but that kind of money will blow our budget out of the water!

Andy- The real answer is, if you can't afford to do it properly, don't do it...

250cc is 23.8lbs/hour the ones below are slighty over this, might require some alterations to the map..

Early 1,8T injectors from A4 are 3 cc's bigger than G60

Cant remember the number though, but the clips on the fuel rail required is different than both G40 and 1,8T

can only talk about standard ones. but for saftey i bought new standard ones from steve at psd. i was just gonna get mine cleaned but was told by steve himself that there can be varying problems from using cleaned items and the best bet is to replace. anyway i listened to the man and bought fresh ones. around 150 quid iirc for the set? maybe a bit less? anyway made me feel alot more comfortable with the car along with new pumps etc. a bit off topic but my point is i dont think cleaned injectors are too wise a route from what i gathered especially on a car that may have the power output increased.

I've looked round my local scrapyard many a time n the las few weeks trying to get hold of the right sized injectors i need!

Porsche 944 injectors are the same as boxter ones. 227cc i think or pretty similar

Saab 900 2.0 16v injectors are circa 260cc's

I rang bosch many times and couldnt find anything that helped me out really, I'm after 300-310cc's for my remap with steve.

The only ones bosch could come up with was citreon zx turbo and peugeot 505.

I was always told to get injectors ultrasonically cleaned at 100k to keep them in top shape, but this is just what i've heard off the TDI lads. But I know of taxi's that've done 400k without injectors and without them being cleaned.

I picked up a Complete Rail, with Injectors for 30

Sold the Rail for £25

Low mileage injectors, high flow rate, £5

yeh, but they're a bit noisy, suppose you can't hear them that much with the clutch release bearing.

I've looked round my local scrapyard many a time n the las few weeks trying to get hold of the right sized injectors i need!

Try some old Saab 9000 turbo injectors - on the non-Aero/Carlsson models they seem to be good for 250bhp+, so should be more than sufficient. Though personally I'd buy new. Be careful to check both flow rate and impedance...

The ideal flow rate for light modifs would be 250cc?!!!!!

My car setup:

- Lighter flywheel

- Polo Gt inlet manifold ported

- Throttle body 50mm

- bosch wd4dpo

- 65mm pulley, rs charger

- Ported head inlet/exhaust

- Jabba chip/Superchips

and antother bits like magnecor stuff, 2nd inlet blanking...

A 250cc set would be enough for this setup, i think so, i don´t see any advantage on using superior flow rate injectors!?
