any ideas where i can get a US spec bootlid from?

or how can i achieve this by using my current tailgate?

anyone have dimensions of a US spec number plate?

there's no such thing as a US-spec Polo, they don't get polos in the USA.

You might be thinking of the Japanese spec polo bootlid which has a square-shaped number plate recess (to fit plates like motorbike ones). I guess your best bet is to see if a VW dealers can order one in for you, or have a holiday in Japan and bring one back as a souvenier.

to be honest though it'll probably be cheaper and less hassle to just get a body shop to make you a new recess, it really wont be hard for them.
