you normally have a plastic insert that runs in the middle of the handle, flip that up with a flathead screwdriver and then there should be a screw underneath...

not sure if its the same on the mk4 but thats my best guesstimate :)

ther is a collar behind the winder that if you push sideways, or upwards with handle pointing down allows you to just pull the handle straight off.

found this out after breaking mine forcing it with a screw driver.

yeah it's very easy, don't force it with screwdrivers. just slide the collar up/down and then pull the handle out
