MK5 Polo 75bhp and 100bhp engines.

(and i am not looking for 25bhp or 'engine code' as the answer :p )

I specifically want to know why they are both 1.4 16v engines, yet 1 throws out 75bhp and the other 100bhp.

Is there anyway of making the 75bhp up to 100bhp? if so what do you need to do to do it and how much can you improve it by?

No silly answers please, this is a serious question and i am after a serious answer!!

does anyone know the engine codes of a MK5 polo with 75bhp (AHW, AUA, BBY, BKY, APE or what ??) and 100bhp ? (AFK, AUB, BBZ)

anyone?!! ! lol have i got these right....

1.4 16v on mk4 = AFH

mk5 engines 16v

"1.4 16v"

AHW, AUA, APE = same head, same intake & exhaust cams, same headgasket

AFK, AUB = same head but AQQ different, all 3 have same intake & exhaust cams, all same headgasket

"1.6 16v"

ARC, AVY - both same headgasket, same exhaust cams, different heads and different inlet cams

I'm still none the wiser as to why they would make 6 different 1.4 16v engines with 2 different output powers!
