Has anyone got one or ever cleaned a BMC carbon dynamic airfilter, them big carbon fibre cylinder things, my mk4 16v is running abit lumpy and I've got a feeling its because that hasnt been cleaned

take it off, start it, is it still running lumpy? just to be sure it's that, you might be able to use standard airfilter cleaner from k&n etc. Not too sure actually.

if its running lumpy, the throttle body probally needs cleaning, a dirty air filter wont make it run lump i dnt tink.

take off the BMC, clean out the throttle body, ( open up the butterfly valve inside the throttlebody ) clean in there,

disconnect the battery for a few hours then see if that solves the problem. it might need abit of a drive wen u re-connect the battery.

when my alternator belt shredded the bmc sucked up loadsa bits of thread so i carefully put the nozzle of the hoover up there!
