Hi all, I am replacing the current standard air filter unit on my mk2 polo coupe parade 1.3 carb with a k&n bolt-on air filter.

Is it be possible to take off the heat plate and breather pipe on top of my manifold assuming I'm obviously not going to need it anymore?

And what do I do about the vacuum pipe or is that just a part of my old air-filter unit???

Oh and will this new unit fit under my bonnet? lol.

The vacuum comes from the a pipe that comes form the base of the carb this will need to be blocked

Anyways you wont gain any performance from this mod just a nicer noise, just incase you didnt know

On top of my manifold there is a metal plate screwed on with a pipe which blows hot air into my air filter when the engine is cold...

Thanks for the info on the vacuum pipe, and I'm not after a performance gain, i just want my engine bay to look nicer, the nicer sound is good to know aswell
