Right i cant actually offord a set of pitstops toothed pulley's at the moment (which i'd love to have now that i'm after more power) but is this something good in the mean time?

i imagine it'l be somewhere between the twin v belts and the toothies....

wider belt = less slip than V belts

but without the whining noise of the toothies !

thats what i though too! I'm on a 65mm pulley and a newly rebuilt charger with no leaks (intercooler aside as i dont know its actual condition!) all the boost pipes are tight, but i cant get more than half a bar of boost!

Definitely save for some toothies! There was a company offering toothies on ebay for aorund £135 iirc......

i have a set of these on the way for a different setup, am hoping they will do the trick! its what is used on most OEM setups, mercedes, minis etc. with the multi ribs there is a lot of contact areas but would really benefit from an extra pulley.

i am running the same kit on my rotrex

there is a bit of belt slip, but you can get grippier/softer belts like euroflex (sp?)

its cheap and does the job for now, belts are easier to get hold of

this is a 5pk kit though, i ve seen 6pk (wider, same as g60 ones) kits on ebay de may be you want to go for those instead

So you think its on OK stop gap? I have 2 interiors and a few other bits and pieces to sell so I may have enough for toothed kit! £250 a set though!

na, i say save your money and save up for the toothies, unless you get these pulleys cheap

£90 for these or £250 for toothies! Plus my boost gauge is knackered! So i have to sort that - and my thermostat housing is leaking and it needs an oil change! And new tyres - brakes need a service too!

i would fix the stuff that needs doing, like the thermostat housing, oil change and brakes before spending money on these pulleys

I'm signed off sick still and need a few easiy things to work on myself (before i go spare!) So i'm just buying loads of stuff up so i can do thing when i'm recovering! (back in hospital next week for another small operation!)

U sure you are boost readings are accurate? I'm running a 65mm pulley on a newly rebuilt full blend charger and I make around 13-14 psi @ 6500rpm, half a bar sounds very low

I woudlnt bother again tbh. Might as well stick with V-belts for the difference they make.

andy should you not try and find the source of the low boost before putting toothed pulleys on? although it might increase it initially its not really a cure to the problem? is it? and personally id wait for the proper stuff from PSD. it may only be 90 quid but its 90 quid closer to the psd ones?

I spoke to steve about it yesterday. I've run through the boost leak checks and found none (though i haven't tested the intercooler) he recons its the boost gauge talking crap!

13psi sounds like a good figure - but i have never had my revs over 4500! Maybe i need to rev it a bit harder to get better figures out of it!

I'm going to hold onto my money for the time being and blow it all in one go! Should be about £800 or so by the time i'm finished! Sold another engine and interior this morning! :)

Yeah you definately need to give it more poke! (When u've run it in of course) :)

I did 1800 miles and the exhaust oil seal came out of the housing so I sent it back/ Steve fitted a new on. and i've done about the same again as i'm off sick and the only fun i get it driving!
