try taking pass plus before insuring your car. also best way to get quotes is by ringing them up I've found personally. there's also good insurers to try who specialise in insuring recently passed drivers like endsleigh. Also another option is to go on parent's policy or put down an older person on the insurance, which tends to decrease the quote as well.

get on www.moneysupermarket.com and get a quote there first, it gives you a good idea which of the 'big' companies will be kind to your wallet.

My quote for a 1L Polo coupe was 2500! but at my dads address its 1200! and thats out side his pub and in a hoilday resort lol

Have you passed your test? The insurance companies always give you stupid prices like that if you try and insure the main driver with a provisional licence. You could always try adding someone on as a second driver that has a few years no claims (mam, dad etc) as this can bring it down. Apart from that, just shop around!
