Featured Replies

hiya peeps!

i was driving my car earlier and i pulled up at the lights then neutral and handbrake the cars rev range is going up and down and the engine stammering! i took it back home and tried cleaning the spark plugs and the dizze cap! my Dad has had a look and reckons it could be something to do with the ammount of fuel going in to the engine or something!

the car seems to start and run and doesnt sound like its running on 3 cylinders rather than 4 its really weird it just missfires and dip below and above 1000 revs!

any help is appreciate dand thanks for reading :D

BUMP! need help :p

Sounds like air is getting in somewhere, get under the bonnet and see if you can hear any hissing from around the inlet manifold etc.

Also try removing one lead at a time, if removing one of them makes no difference you may have a faulty plug or lead or a prblem on that cylinder.

Nick

if your revs are fluctuating and the engine seems to be "hunting" for revs, it could be the throttle body(not sure exactly what model and year yours is). They can get pretty dirty causing the throttle butterfly to stick.

before you start messin with throttle bodies n stuff try the coil.............. common thing i work in a scrapyard.................

I have the same problem on my mk 4 polo 1.0L

I noticed today my exhaust manifolds cracked and leaking could this cause the problem?

Not too good with cars
