Theres a large amout of water in my 6n2 in the passengers footwell behind the drivers seat.

I have a vague idea where the water is running down from, because when i was taking the carpet underlay out i got my dad to pour water over the car and it seems to be running in from the engine area somewhere. The pedal box has been changed in the car not so long ago could it be that this is not fitted 100% right? or could it be coming in from somewhere else as i've heard just a blocked drain could be the problem. i don't have a clue to go about fixing this problem and to be honest i'm really gutted because this is my first car an i paid alot of money for it!! if any one can help i will be very very gratefull!!

do you have a sunroof???

I on my 5dr, recently experienced a little problem like this but on the left side rear passenger footwell, It turns out the door seal is on its way out. could be something little, have a look at the seals around the car? Is yours a 3dr or 5dr?

Thanks for the replies, yes it is a 3 door and has the electric sunroof, i think from what i found out when spraying the car with the hose the the water is coming in from the pedals or around that area bt still not 100% on this i have heard there are drains by the pollen filter that can easily be blocked by leaves causing this problem, but i don't know how to get to there or where it is! Although i'd be willing to try if sum1 could tell me how! my door seals all seem to be in good condition as are sunroof seals so i think it has to be somewhere else, but i am willing to try anything to fix this problem as i just want to get on with keeping the car in top condition!

remove the wiper arms and remove the rubber strip lift the scuttle panel out then you should see the wiper motor pollen filter ecu etc.check that all the gromets are in place and theres not crap blocking the drain holes either side.also make sure they put all the bolts back where they should be when the pedal box was changed.hope you find it mate

ok, reeeght.On your model,the pollen filter housing is on the passengers side but if the plenum chamber drain holes are blocked water can pour in from behind the pedals aswell.

The sunroof seal is not really watertight,water does get past it and colects in the sunroof base.There are 4 drain tubes leaving the sunroof base,2 to the front,2 to the rear.The front tubes drain out of grommets (star shaped rubber grommets) that are located at the front of the front doorshuts near the hinge.

First check these tubes arent blocked.then check they haven't popped of the sunroof base , if one has come loose

water will run down the "A"pillar and collect in the footwell.To check this, pull the top of the door seal down and look above the headlining,you should be able to see if the pipes are attached or not.This is very common.

If thats all ok and your inner door membranes aren't leaking you may have to strip out the carpets and use a hose to trace the leak, yea a pain in the arse,i know.
