Conned and now stuck with em, typical nube

Featured Replies

Alrite guys, now i'm really stuck, iv got these new seats an they need runners welding on. The bloke i got em off in the for sale section told me they'd fit in my polo, so bein a trusting nube i didnt check and went home. only to find out they are Scirocco GT2 seats which is fine and have had the runners taken off and modified to fit a beetle, is there anyway convertin them back as old seats are now soaking wet and car isn't really safe. If anyone lives local and could maybe help sort it out for a price pm me. please guys desperate now, someone with a bit of knoledge and is't gonna lie bout it. and does anyone know how much these seats are worth as they are? Thanks Mark

God you waited 45 minutes precisely. IF no-one answers, its because they don't know. I could tell you to steal seats off a merc S-Class, or from a transit van, but i wouldnt know if they'd go in yours.

Give people time to answer, but yes I'm sure it is possible to weld them to the correct subframes. However I'm not sure, so don't take that for certain.

Its not as if everyone is on the forum all the time - it may take a day or two. Just be patient!

What you need to do is take your current seats and new seats to a welder...

They will remove the old or current subframes that fit and weld them to the new seats.

You may be able to fashion brackets / drill and bolt the seats to the correct subframes once removed from the current seats - and this will leave the standard seats unuseable.

I always say do the passenger side first - that way if it goes wrong / you cannot do it then you can still drive.
