Ok after having a few running problems and a rattly cam follower. I thought id do a quick oil and filter change and check to see if i'm loosing boost from anywhere other than where the main boost pipe connectors are. Checked everysingle connector and found a few loose ones inc the small pipe which goes from the big plastic boost pipe down under the inlet manifold. So refitted that. Check all the other's and tightened up the jubilee clamps. Plus i found at tick over i was loosing boost between the charger and the elbow (My seal has a break in it and it always has) so i got a new seal from VAG parts and fitted it today!

What a difference! Tickover is a little quieter and I have more boost! Plus I pulled out my Headunit (JVC Touchscreen) and refitted my older and slightly more retro black Sony headunit - as the silver of the JVC is kind of out of place!

Good stuff, I'm chasing an air leak on my turbo diesel Discovery at the moment, it won't boost full stop, I can't even find where the leak is

Plant your foot, and where you expect to be pushed back into your seat (shimmed wastegate, fuelling mods, BIG intercooler - goes rather well) it seems to die and not go anywhere and make a dreadful racket under the bonnet, boosting into thin air. I get the feeling my scrapyard special intercooler is split... Might have to actually buy a new one!

Have you had a look for an aftermarket alloy one on the bay,Toby? Maybe for a rice,Ford etc Should be do-able.

I've got boost leaks too at the moment, fix one, another one starts arrrrrgh, done the charger to cooler pipe today and while testing it found a sneaky split on the underside of the pipe joining the throttle body :(

all this samco turbo tubing geeting expensive!!!

I'm thinking about getting an alloy and silicone hose kit for my Disco because it will be cheaper than a new intercooler AND I want them anyway.

I'll have a look on the bay for an IC though Mikey, cheers. At the moment it's one from a Volvo mounted on it's side
