6n central locking!

Featured Replies

seems my central locking has died.

is this a common fault? basically my remote key fob no longer operates the door locks. when i turn the key in the drivers side it doesnt operate the passenger lock either (i.e. i have to unlock both sides manually) - anyone any ideas on how to fix this? I'm guessing its the pump thats given up??? :-(

you sounds like a pump failure, put it in a plastic bag when you put a new one in to protect it, because every mk4 seems to have a leak lol

You have mk5 rear lights, the right hand side leaks? Snap! lol, i just moved my pump to the other side of that foamy stuff thats in their away from the little stream of water :)

cheers for the replies, I'm guessing that it does have to with moisture getting in there. i have now had to take the fuse out cos the pump still has some life in it and seems intent on continuing to try to lock and unlock the doors randomly! will get meself to the scrappie next weekend methinks. anyone know if the early and late mk4s have identical pumps?
