Calling all audio freaks

They will mount to where the original rear speakers were (well not on my model golf it only came with 3.5" dash speakers but it has the mounting space and grills )

I just want something that will give a nice ok quality sound to the rear passengers

I`ll be powering them with a decent 10" sub (any recomendations?????) through my pioneer amp http://www.pioneer.eu/eur/products/archive...000T/index.html

That amp is a beast out of all my audio in the polo that was the only thing left without damage, not even a scratch :-D

they are good for the money, very loud for their size but a lot of people complain that the titanium tweaters are a little bit harsh, compared with more refined tweaters such as silk dome ones.

I'm thinking, keep a pair for myself, sell the other 3 pairs for £20 a pop i end up with a pint and 2 packets of crisps and a free pair of speakers :-D

will it f*ck! so long as you run them off the amp with a high pass filter set (so they dont have to deal with the low freq sound) and you dont go too mad with the gain control they will be fine. when you fit them put the headunit on to 3/4 of the max volume, adjust the gain till they start to distort, then back the gain off a bit, that way you will never blow them up. One thing though, if you are planning to use a sub, how are you intending to run it all off a two channel amp?! you can run some amps in tri-mode, but its not ideal. you would be better of using the amp you have to run the jbls, then buy a class d amp to run the sub, or alternately buy a 4 channel amp that will run the lot!

just double checked and the amp you have a link to doesnt have a high pass filter, so it would prob be best to use that for the sub and buy an amp with a high pass filter on it for the jbls!

In was just going to bridge it it worked well with the stuff i had in the polo, sub and 6x9`s

Whats all this "high pass filter" jibba jabba I'm not too clued up with audio

basically a high pass filter (H.P.F) will only allow mid to high frequency sounds through to the speaker (i.e. it will stop the jbls making any bass sounds, as they dont need to if you use a sub!) the same applies for a sub, only you use a low pass filter (L.P.F) for a sub, which filters out any high frequency sound. there are two main types of high pass filter and low pass filter, one is preset to a certain frequency (good if you are an ice virgin!)and the other (which is better if you know what you are doing) is adjustable over a certain frequency range, allowing for tiny adjustments to be made. most modern high end headunits have these filters built in, so you dont always have to use the ones on the amp.

I've got an amp its a renegade one 500w with the filters, I used to have my 6x9's connected to it on high pass but I recently bought a new 4 channel amp, so I've got this one sitting around. PM me if your interested
