Markeh's Mk4

Featured Replies

KEEP READING... IT GETS BETTER... HONEST.

Picked up my V Reg 1.4 Mk4 Polo a couple of months ago for £1600 and I had no big plans for it, just wanted to tidy it up a little and its coming along slowly, i'm doing things when I can and as my current part-time job money will allow.

Heres the car as it was when i bought it

Went to GTI International and picked up a debadged grill for it...

...and got around to fitting my 6N2 rear lights (thankyou polo_welly 8-) ) and also removed the remaining 1.4 CL badge

Plans at the moment are to remove the rub strips from the sides and when money allows purchase some crysyal side repeaters, clear indicators, lowering springs and alloys, though at the moment i'm not sure which to buy first. I'm looking at buying some 15" BBS RXII and get a healthy drop on it.

Hope you like what i've managed to achieve so far and looking for comments and ideas for things i can do in the future.

Thanks for looking!

It sounds like a good work in progress, I think clear indicators front and side make a quality difference to the car. cheap and simple to do

How do you remove the badges from the boot?? and if your gettin rid of the alloys let me know

cheers

sounds good.. thats the first things i done to my car wen i started doing it up 2 month ago... debadgeing.. grille and rear lights but i got crappy blue hellas but now i have got the led 1ns... just got a rear 16v bumper so thats my next aim getting that sprayed up..

the next thing i would do now is get some nice wheels clear indicators all round then some german plates and that car will be PHAT!! also take off all your bumpstrips on the side with hot water... and the mudflaps!!

very nice mate, your pretty much in the same situation as me. Iv got uni full time and then my part time job, so just gettin there slowly. iv got a 1.4 cl myself, debadged grilll, de-bumperstripped, took the badges off the back, clear indicators, crystal side repeaters, sub and amp, personalised head rests, but still not managed to get enough money for wheels and droppin it. looks like youve got some nice wheels on there to see you over anyway. good luck and need any advice as a fellow cl give us a shout. gaz

Been a long time since i posted in this thread because well its been a long time since I've done anything, spent most of my cash since i bought the car on going on holiday and what not so heres what I've been up to recently....

Whilst taking the rub strips off the side of the car i had a bit of a 'mare, offside came off nicely but drivers side took some paint with it.. so off to the bodyshop it went (Paint Workshop in Nottingham, Just off J25) and i figured whilst it was there i might aswell have some other bits done that i was planning to do.

So out came the rear badge

and the newly painted and destriped doors

Next update will be car on its arse with some new shoes.

Enjoy, any feedback is welcome =]

(and yus, car needs a clean)

Looks like a decent start thus far. Where were the coilies from and how much were they? You should just fit them even on the rims you have now. Cars always look 10x better when lowered!

A guy is bringing me a tidy set of RXIIs on sunday all the way from central scotland so as soon as i got rubber on them they can go on, should all be sorted in a week or 2, might aswell wait and get it all done at once.

nah get the coilies on.. then as soon as the rims turn up it'll be pimpin

We want Lowerage!

Get em on now!

Will look rather sweet though once there all on!

Bout time i updated this i think. Basically its just copied from my post on e38.

If you wanna look, thread is here: http://www.edition38.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=97030

Just got the polo back from bodyshop and its looking nice (or was before a week of rain dulled him up a bit) went out to wash it and it started raining which annoyed me slightly. Will give him a wash as soon as possible.

So i guess i'd better post some pics otherwise whats the point eh?

Whats been done you ask? 16v bumpers front and back, toe eyes smoothed. Front has had 4 outer grills smoothed out. Aerial is gone from the roof and some small gutters or grooves whatever you want to call them have been removed from underneath the rear lights. Had a big dent taken out the driver side wing and had washer jets relocated underneath the bonnet. Oh and if you didnt notice the MK3 VR6 Leather on the inside.

Basically plans now are, new lights for the front, thinkin in.pro crystals. Was considering some angel eyes but i think I've put myself off that idea. Still wanna lower it a bit more see how much further i can go down and some new rubber all round, wanna go for a lower profile/more stretch. Current i've got 195/45/15s on an 8 thinkin of going 175 seems to be whats lookin good. Still need to hook up the heated seats somehow, gonna get onto an auto electrician friend of mine and sort it out.

As for the interior, saving up for dash/headliner/parcel shelf retrim and new carpets. A friend purchased me a 280mm momo team for my birthday although its yet to arrive so as soon as that arrives it will be going in.

Thanks for looking, comments welcome, especially those that stroke my e-peen.

mmmmmmm, tis nice mate, really nice indeed! i would say black rof but no, stick with green or possibly cream roof/mirrors? hmm I'm not even sure on that....... in that case green ftw

the gti lip looks mint !

think i might have a go at fitting one to mine

did you use self tappers or do any of the fittings line up ?

Splitter went straight on mate, minimal fuss. Just waitin for my new headlights to arrive then i'll be pretty happy with the exterior. Then savin up time for some nice interior stuffs.

Thanks for replies.
